April 2023

Here comes Peter Cottontail…

You know…no one has ever satisfactorily explained to me the idea behind an Easter Bunny that comes at night and hides eggs that he/she biologically did not lay in order that children may find and eat them. Always felt a little creepy to me. But then so did the Tooth Fairy. Or it could have been an old 70’s drive-in movie called NIGHT OF THE LEPUS about a horde of giant homicidal bunny rabbits.

I had a weird childhood.

Welcome to April, Primetimers! We had no fewer than 42 in-person events on the calendar in March, along with, of course, the ever present Morning Jolters and other online events. The schedule is pretty crowded for April too, but there’s still some room if you’d like to host an event! If you don’t know how or just don’t want to do it alone, contact one of the Organizers and we’ll see how we can help.

Of course the big event this April is the Swing into Spring Picnic out at Lakeway City Park. We’ve got the pavilion reserved, our BBQ tools ready, and music for dancing your bootys off ready to play. Should be a fun time for all. Unfortunately, I can’t make it because of my previous every weekend engagement, but I’ll be with you guys in spirit.

Meanwhile, we also want to welcome Barbara to the Primetime Organizer team. She has lots of experience in Meetup and a long history with us (and, ahem, other groups). But be sure to give her a special hello at the picnic.

Slowly but surely everyone is shaking off the Covid rust and realizing life is out there…not in here. Let’s take advantage of the cooler spring temperatures before the Texas summer sets in and let’s live it.

Live glorious, Primetimers.

Gregg, on behalf of Louise, Andy, Lisa & Barbara
