Greetings and happy new year PrimeTimers! We hope that you had a joyous, safe and healthy holiday season.
Our gala was such a fun time! Thanks to all who came out and helped out. We’re already discussing ideas for this year’s event, and in the not too distant future, we will be looking for people to host it.
I don’t know about you but I sure didn’t expect to still be experiencing a pandemic close to two years in. I was pretty sure we were going to be going to stage two- not stage four -here recently. But here we are. APH tells us we should pretty much wear a mask wherever we go, whether we’re vaccinated or not. And as much as I initially thought that wasn’t necessary, now I realize with Omicron, and its easy transmission, it makes sense. But this whole thing does tend to rain on our social parades doesn’t it?
And even so, we still are managing to have varied events on our calendar on a weekly basis. Hopefully there’s a light at the end of this tunnel and we can be back to pre-Covid variety and number of social events.
One of our most popular events are the small dinners. They immediately fill up and the wait list is as long as the list of people going! Do you want to guarantee your seat at one of these dinner parties? I’ll tell you how: Host one! (Perhaps ask a friend to cohost with you). Start with your favorite place, call them up see if they’ll seat eight or 10 people, ask if they’ll do separate checks and then reserve a table. One of the event organizers or Co-organizers can help you write up your event if needed. Once you get the hang of it, you can host one on your own at the same place or try something different each time.
Just a reminder we have and what’s called an Inreach team that is available to help members who may have a medical issue and need help with groceries, pet walking, a trip to the doctor or a ride home from the hospital, etc. etc. Please contact one of us in leadership and we’ll see about getting you some assistance.
Here’s to a brighter, peaceful, unified 2022.
Cheers!
